Holywell Area Fflecsi

Flintshire County Council have issued a press release indicating that today (21st June 20121) a new Fflecsi service has been launched in Holywell.

This service will replace the current LT1-3 services that visit such places as Rhes-y-Cae, Caerwys, Pantasaph, Ysceifiog, Lloc and Carmel.   Like the other Fflecsi services that have appeared in North Wales such as Llanrwst, Prestatyn and Denbigh - to ride on the bus it is necessary to book in advance by phone or an 'app' on your smartphone.  It is demand responsive and therefore within the defined area of operation and during the hours of service you can make any journey and you will be told when the bus will arrive.  There is of course a charge but concessionary passes are valid.

For this new service I have been informed that for the next two weeks the LT1-3 services will follow their standard timetable on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays (the days of the current operation) but on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Friday the new Fflecsi service will operate.  From the week beginning the 5th July it will be fully operational as a demand responsive service.

The bus being utilised is FP18FEV a 16-seater Flintshire County Council owned Mercedes Benz 516CDI /  Minibus Options which has been used on the LT1-3 services since early 2019. The bus is operated by P and O Lloyd.  Unlike the buses being operated on the other Fflecsi services this bus is not low floor but does have a rear wheelchair lift.  Also it appears there are no immediate plans to give this bus the usual Fflecsi livery - it will retain its current Flintshire livery.
