Stagecoach X10
Appearing in N&P (Wales) today is a new service provided by Stagecoach Merseyside and South Lancashire (Glenvale Transport Limited). This service is shown as the X10 Eastham to Rhyl. However in the North Western N&P a new X10 service is also registered from Kirkby Civic Centre to Eastham. This is therefore clearly a service from Kirkby to Rhyl via Eastham. It is shown as a seasonal service that will operate Sunday & Bank Holidays between 4th July 2021 and 30th August 2021. Then in subsequent years from the first Sunday in July until the August Bank Holiday. No timetable has yet appeared.
K9 Bus Nercwys
Driving along today I spotted what appeared to be a minibus passing the other way showing the following destination indicator.
Nercwys is a village near Mold. I saw this vehicle in the Broughton area near Chester. I thought I knew all the local bus services fairly well but this one was puzzling me. After a little bit of a chase I managed to catch up with the vehicle in the village of Kinnerton and discovered the story of this 'bus'.
The Renault Trafic 'van' is actually owned and operated by a firm trading as Fur Seasons Pet Hotel which offers a 'Doggy Day Care and Home Boarding'. To facilitate the short or long stays they use the 'van' / 'bus' to convey the canines or other pets from their owners to their premises near Nercwys.
