The Crosville Enthusiast Club were able to enjoy two beauties today in the second tour of the year. Leyland National SNG588 (JTU588T) was used to take us from Chester to Rhyl and then Bristol SC4LK SC12 (782EFM) was used to take us from Rhyl around some of the old routes that were operated by Crosville around Rhyl, Colwyn Bay, Conwy and Llandudno. SNG588 then brought use back from Llandudno to Chester. Both of these are a great credit to their owners and a privilege to ride on.
The National was driven today by its owner Andy Hamer. SC12 was driven by Nigel Massey but we were also able to have the benefit of its owner Clive Myers who was able to share his wide local knowledge and his wealth of experience of working in the industry especially around the area we visited. We were also treated to an interesting and informative commentary from Tony Moyes who had well researched these old routes.
Some of the placse we visited included Borth Cross Roads, Rhydyfoel, Llysfaen, Ffordd Las Bridge and Conwy Morfa.
