From 29th November 2021 there is to be a significant change to the Mold to Ellesmere Port service operated by Arriva as their 5 service.
The frequency of the service will remain broadly the same from Mold and Ellesmere Port but the running time will be significantly reduced by nearly 25 minutes to under an hour.
Departure time from Mold during the main part of the day will remain at xx50 but the departure time from Ellesmere Port will change from xx22 to xx49.
To achieve the reduced journey time the route will be changed to a more more direct route. Not being served will be Nant Mawr Road in Buckley, New Brighton and the loops around Cheshire Oaks and the Deeside Industrial Estate. Passengers wishing to visit Cheshire Oaks will get on/off on Stanney Lane
It will also no longer operate around the internal roads of the Deeside Industrial Estate, passengers wishing to travel within the Industrial Estate will have to change onto the new Park and Ride Shuttle.
It is also hoped it will attract more residents to travel from the Flintshire area to Ellesmere Port and Cheshire Oaks with a shorter journey than currently.
Needless to say there will be a saving in that only 2 vehicles will be required to run the service as opposed to the current PVR of 3.
