Ruthin fflecsi trydan

Denbighshire County Council will be starting a new fflecsi service next Monday (14th March) serving the Ruthin town and rural areas.  It is being branded ffllecsi trydan (electric flexi) as it is intended to use an all-electric bus.

The new fflecsi 33 service will be mainly demand-responsive and will replace the following current routes:

172 (Ruthin to Clawddnewydd via Cyffylliog)
173 (Ruthin Town Service)
176 (Ruthin to Graigfechan / Pentrecelyn / Llanelidan)

There is to be a fixed journey from Clawddnewydd (9:00am); Clocaenog (9:04am); Cyffylliog (9:16am); and Bontuchel (9:21am) to arrive in Ruthin at 9:30am. After that, the service operates on demand from 9:30am to 2:30pm, Monday to Friday where passengers can book the service when they want to. They can do this by using an ‘app,’ going online on the fflecsi website or by making phone call.   However a booking must be made no less than one hour before travel.

The service will be available throughout the town of Ruthin and the villages of:  Bontuchel, Clawddnewydd, Clocaenog, Cyffylliog, Derwen, Graigfechan, Llanelidan, Pentrecelyn, Pentrecoch and Rhydymeudwy

The fare is £1 adult single within the town of Ruthin and £1.50 adult single from village to village or a village into Ruthin. Free concessionary travel passes will be valid.

The bus to be used will be an EVM e-Cityline 15 seater body on a Mercedes Sprinter chassis. Being all electric it has zero emissions and is the first such vehicle to be used on a fflecsi service.

Whilst the service will start on Monday (14th) the new electric bus will commence its duties later in the week.
