Dale Travel / Wrexham Prestige Taxis / Deeside Ind Est Park and Ride

Yet another twist in the never ending tale of the Deeside Industrial Estate Park and Ride.

Since August 2021 a park and ride service has been provided at this facility.  The car park, which was built during 2021, is alleged to have cost over £2million.  A bus, (15 seater), is contracted by Flintshire County Council to work the Park and Ride Service and it is planned to be available from 0540 until 1840 Monday to Saturday.  From November last year the Mold to Ellesmere Port Service was changed such that it no longer visited parts of the Deeside Industrial Estate and anyone wishing to travel to this area had to do so using the Park and Ride service.

My observations show that the Park and Ride service is hardly used with only a handful of passengers per day.  Most days there are less than a dozen vehicles using the site and some of these use it to cycle or walk around the nearby paths.

The original contractor was Wrexham Prestige Taxis and they were given the Peugeot Boxer 440 / Minibus Options (M15FL) on loan from the Local Authority.   In November the contractor changed to Dales Travel, Sandycroft and the same vehicle was used.   The contractor has changed yet again from 23rd May and it is now Wrexham Prestige Taxis and the vehicle has also been transferred back to their custody.
