Further to my recent postings on the T8 TrawsCymru service operated by M and H I offer an update.
To cope with the increased PVR due to the T8 the firm planned to acquire two Optare Solo M900SRs YJ64DXR and YJ64DXO from the defunct company Scarlet Band in the Durham area.
DXR has seen service although it is currently off the road due to a minor mechanical problem. DXO has not yet been delivered. Apparently it will be receiving a new engine and MoT before the sale is complete and the delivery is therefore delayed.
At the moment, the buses mainly used on the T8 are the three new Solos acquired in 2021 together with one of the Streetlites (SK18TKE). The other Streetlite is normally being used on the stand alone 2 Ruthin to Mold via Eryrys service.
A further Optare Solo (M850SL) has been purchased. CN06 BXA was new in March 2006 to Bebb, Llantwit Major. After a short period with Hoare, Chespstow it went to Berwyn Motors (Japheth) of Trefor, Caernarfon in March 2013 where it became T18CBC.
This Solo is being used as a spare bus.
