Further to my blog of 4th May I can report the developments at Halendy Garage Mostyn
I visited the premises on 5 May and was able to have a full discussion with Wes Goodwin who until recently has been the principal Director of Go Goodwins Group and Little Gem Bus Company Limited operating from the Manchester area.
He indicated that his premises in Eccles has now been sold to Diamond Bus who has also taken on all his drivers. Most of the fleet is being sold. He has therefore ceased all bus operation in the Manchester area.
As he has a long-term family connection with North Wales and he has bought residential property in Trelawnyd near Dyserth he intends to run a much-reduced coach operation in North Wales mainly private hire working with his son Louis. He indicated that whilst it has not been completely ruled out it is unlikely that he will use the Crosville name in his business.
Despite the fact that an application for an Operators Licence has just been submitted he has purchased the former Alun Andrew premises in Mostyn and has already moved a number of vehicles there including his cherished collection.The content of his former depot in Eccles is also now stored at Mostyn.
The fleet at Mostyn now comprises of :-
WS4522, 1935 Leyland Tiger TS7 with Cowieson B34R body new to Scotish Motor Traction. Withdrawn from service in December 1959 tt spent time at the Scottish Vintage Bus Museum and came to Goodwin in October 2022 <<See link for Flickr Photos>>
ETC760B Bedford VAS2 / Plaxton Embassy C29F- new in April 1964 to Entwistle, Morecambe and was first with Goodwin in November 1984. <<See link for Flickr Photos>>
Volvo B10M-60 / Jonckheere Deauville F90CBD This was the first new coach purchased by the Go Goodwin business in May 1989. They sold it in May 1991 to an operator in Ireland and after it had been with a number of opeartors they purchased it again in June 2011.
DAF MB230 / Jonckheere P50 WSV553 (A375UNH) new in March1984 to Roman City, Bath. Was with Goodwin since January 2020.
Volvo / Jonckheere WES19Y which has been converted to convey the family stock racing car.
Neoplan Tourliner (C53FLT) GO22LOU (OU22ZXB) New in April 2022 to Go Goodwins
