Hooton Park Bus Event 2022

What a fantastic pleasure it was attending the 2022 Hooton Park Bus Event that has sadly not been held for a couple of years due to the pandemic.

I cannot stress how much I enjoyed the event - despite the heat.

There were some 16 former Crosville buses to see - some of which I was able to ride:-

CRG111, DFG157, DFG38, DLG950, DOG187, DVG266, ENL930, EOG212, ERG280, ERG52, SLL620, SNG588, SNL816, SRG181, SRG196 and SRL247

There was also at least a further 25 heritage buses from such stables as Ribble, Liverpool, Wallasey, Chester and many other former operators from the North West area and beyond. Perhaps the most unusual visitor was the former Cardiff Bendy Bus 615.

There was the opportunity to ride on heritage buses to such places as Chester, Birkenhead, Parkgate and Eastham Ferry with a regular shuttle to Hooton Railway Station.

Better still was meeting so many old friends and fellow enthusiasts.

There was so much available that unfortunately I was not able to partake in everything that was there.

A great deal of thanks is owed to those involved in the complex operations of the day and to all those that provided buses for enthusiasts like me to see and enjoy.
