Wirral Bus and Tram Show 2022

I am very pleased to report that I was able to attend this year's event on Sunday and it was back to its pre-Covid excellence.

There were well over 60 buses on display with a number of these running rides to New Brighton, the Docks area or Mystery tours. There was also trams on display with three working a short route to near Woodside.

I must admit I rode on all three trams, and I also enjoyed an excellent mystery tour which turned out to be to Port Sunlight aboard the splendid 1958 Wallasey Corporation 1 (FHF 451)  which was the first Leyland Atlantean and is brilliantly preserved.

The museum was fully open with an opportunity to see and study many of the exhibits together with a marvellous working model train layout.  There was also plenty of relevant stalls selling all sorts of 'transport material' including the Crosville Enthusiasts Club stall which was ably and diligently manned by Tony Beasley and John Baker whom I believe had a very successful day.

There were at least 10 Crosville vehicles including CSG655 (904 OFM), DFG38 (319 PFM),
DLG950    (286 HFM),  DVG521 (BMA 521W),  EOG200 (B200 DTU), ERG52 (UFM 52F)
KG147  (LFM 728), M52 (CFM 354),  SLL620 (MCA 620F),  SNG588  (JTU 588T)

It was welcome to see a variety of buses both preserved and some still in service.  Daniel King brought up from Machynlleth Lloyd's Dart with East Lancashire body E02 (RIG 3820) and was able to bring a number of enthusiasts en-route including a number of Lloyd's employees.
