Today in the Office of the Traffic Commissioners Notice and Proceedings was published the following notification of an application for an operator's licence
PG2064110 SI GO GOODWINS GROUP LTD
Director(s): WESLEY ALAN GOODWIN
UNIT C1 LYNTOWN TRADING ESTATE, ECCLES, MANCHESTER, M30 9QG
Operating Centre: HALENDY GARAGE, WATERGATE JUNCTION A548, MOSTYN, CH8 9HW
Authorisation: 10 vehicle(s)
Transport Manager(s): Louis Goodwin
The premises of Halendy Garage has been, up until December of last year, the Operating Centre for Alun Andrew but he has now ceased his business and is retiring.
The application is not a total surprise as in 2019 a company was registered at Minford, Marian, Trelawnyd, Rhyl under the name of Crosville Coaches Limited, with Wesley Alan Goodwin as a Director. An application was made by the company for an Operators Licence for 10 vehicles at the premises in Trelawnyd. On 21st November 2019 the N&P showed that this application had been withdrawn before determination.
A possible reason for this withdrawal was issues concerning planning permission for the premises concerned. These premises are in or are very close to the area of outstanding beauty.
Following that withdrawal it is understood that discussions took place with Alun Andrew which may have involved the purchase of his business. However as this event occurred at the time of the Covid outbreak all discussions between Wes Goodwin and Alun Andrew ceased and it appears that discussions have only recently been resurrected.
The name of the company changed a number of times from Crosville Coaches Limited to
A N Andrews Coaches Ltd then
A N Andrew Coaches Ltd (as this was the correct spelling of Alun's name) then
Crossville Coaches Ltd (which is not the correct spelling of the previous iconic company) - but a few days ago it has been changed again to its original name of
Crosville Coaches Limited - however the registered office has changed from the premises in Trelawnyd to Halendy Garage in Mostyn. Also there is now only a single director of Sally Goodwin.
It is believed that the Alun Andrew has not yet sold his premises in Mostyn but this may be waiting on the decision of the grant of an Operators Licence.
It is not clear what type of business that may be operated.
