Townlynx, Greenfield, Holywell ceases trading

It is with sadness and surprise that I report that Townlynx appears to be ceasing operations after today.

This news is confirmed by Flintshire County Council where a list of the services and school runs affected have been published on their website.

Friday 8 September 2023

Townlynx Bus Services will not be operating any transport services after today, Friday 8th September, 2023

We need to inform you that the Council has been advised (at lunch time today) that Townlynx Bus Services will not be operating any transport services after today, Friday 8th September. This means that no school transport buses, college transport buses and public transport services operated by Townlynx Bus Services will operate from tomorrow onwards (from Saturday, 9th September 2023).

Transport Services operated by other bus companies will continue to be provided as normal.

How will this affect school transport?
A significant number of pupils will be affected by this announcement and, unfortunately, despite our best efforts, there are insufficient resources amongst other transport operators to cover services at such short notice.

Both eligible and fare paying pupils will be affected and, as such, all pupils will be required to make alternative transport arrangements to and from school as of Monday 11th September until further notice.
